ROTH is on a green mission

And we are translating it into sustainable action

Across the board, our company is committed to taking a forward-thinking approach to achieve more sustainability. It’s a task that can only be tackled collectively, and a challenge that has led us to actively explore new horizons in our business for many years now. That’s why our focus on climate and environmental protection goals – besides our many other values – is very close to our heart. Because ROTH thinks green.

Back in 2014, our participation in the ECOfit programme laid the foundations for our documented environmental management system, which went on to successfully gain ISO 14001:2015 certification in 2016. Since then, we have been working non-stop to continuously improve the environmental performance of our company.

Let us give you a few examples. We have installed innovative technology operated by green energy for heating and cooling our plants. We are increasingly swapping our shipping materials for sustainable packaging, but still with a sleek, modern design. (You’d be amazed what you can do with grass…) And our outdoor facilities are a perfect paradise for our bees.

But we’re not just changing ourselves – we also want to help our customers make their day-to-day lab work more sustainable. That’s why we launched “carl”, our sustainability magazine dedicated entirely to green topics in the lab. And we are adding sustainable products to our range all the time, which are easy to spot thanks to labels such as “green chemicals” or our “ROTH for Future” mark.

We have started a blog series called ROTH thinks green so you can read all about the steps we are taking as a company on our journey towards our ambitious goal of becoming a sustainable business. It includes reports on new, sustainable materials in our operating facilities, our species protection campaigns and our support for environmental protection organisations.
